Meet Maria
Specializing in Child and Youth Development, Maria Galyean is a consultant who holds a master’s degree in leadership from The University of Southern Maine and a bachelor’s degree in child and youth development from Florida Gulf Coast University.
Maria works exclusively with homeschool families at all stages of the journey, helping students thrive by giving them tools to follow their interests while keeping parents organized with records, structure, and encouragement.
Unlike other homeschool coaches and services, Maria specializes in done for you support, working one on one with parents and homeschoolers, long and short term, to create personalized systems and plans.
The V.I.B.E. Model
The Values and Interest Based Educational model was created by The Homeschool Admin to empower learners and parents alike to tailor their homeschool around what means the most to them while also keeping educational growth in view.
This is not about recreating school at home. It is about building a homeschool that fits the child, the family, and the season of life you are actually living.
Educational Development Assessment
Maria also uses her Educational Development Assessment to give parents a grasp on the big question, “Is my child behind?”
This observational discovery tool enables parents to see if their child is on track and includes a one on one meeting with Maria to discuss practices and activities that support further development.
Through intentional curriculum suggestions, personalized materials, and educational standards that are aligned with your family, Maria can set you up to thrive in homeschooling.
“Maria will bring a sense of calm to your homeschool journey.”
My Story
During my career as an early childhood educator in childcare and Head Start programs before becoming a nanny, I found my morals and values triggered often.
In 2019, I learned about vaccine mandates forced on Maine students, and I focused much of my energy advocating for medical freedoms and rights. Eventually, I founded The Homeschool Admin in response to the growing need for family-centered homeschool support.
I decided to answer the calls from my local community to offer my education, experience, and expertise as a service for homeschooling families.
Asking God, “What do I have to give the world, and what does the world need?” I was led to forge my gifts into my true calling.
I am a mother, a guardian and Godmother, and wife to a cherished man. My hobbies and passions are dancing, gardening, cooking, and creating with words, paint, and drawing.
I hope to share my specialties with you sometime.
